Google News to provide news from agencies

Last friday Google has announced that they will be including a feature called "duplicate detention" to better find original stories from news publishers, including news agencies like Associated Press, Agence France-Presse, UK Press Association and the Canadian Press. This might lead to less traffic on newspaper websites, as users have the option to read the whole original text in Google News instead of continuing to newspaper sites providing the same content. This fuels the fire for the ongoing discussion if Google is violating the copyright by linking to newspapers' content. What do you think: are links from Google News good or bad for media houses?
