A new research tool for Nielsen

September 24, the Nielsen Company announced it has opened up a new social networking Web site called 'Hey! Nielsen' (www.heynielsen.com) to the public.
The site gives lovers of pop culture a place to react about TV shows, music or movies. It has been tested internally within the Nielsen Co. for the past few months. Nielsen also plans to launch a Spanish-language version of the site, 'Oye! Nielsen', in January.
Nielsen expects the site will be able to provide demographic information, comments and scores for specific entertainment properties which could be used as a complement to Nielsen’s traditional research services such as TV ratings, SoundScan (music), Nielsen EDI (box office information) and other services.
